Event: Supreme Court Summer Institute for Master Teachers
Sandra Berman, of Needham, MA, will travel to Washington, DC this summer to attend the prestigious Sumpreme Court Summer Institute (SCSI). After a highly competetive application process, 60 teachers were selected to participate this year. The Institute, open to teachers who demonstrate outstanding ability in the field of law-related education, is co-sponsored by Street Law and the Supreme Court Historical Society. The SCSI will offer teachers the opportunity to study recent Supreme Court Cases in great detail and experience innovative teaching methodology for conveying this information to students. Other highlights of the Institute include: substantive sessions on Supreme Court issues with noted scholars and Street Law staff
a VIP tour of the U.S. Supreme Court
a reception to be hosted by a U.S. Supreme Court Justice.
Upon returning to Needham, Berman will be available to present workshops on the U.S. Supreme Courts and to meet with media to discuss how the new skills and information will apply in the classroom.
