Qualifications
Recommendations from candidate’s
Principal or Director and another
professional colleague, and possession
of at least an initial license in
another educational role and completion
of three full years of employment
in a district-wide, school-based,
or other educational setting. Additionally,
candidates should verify that his/her
Principal or Director is willing to
assume the responsibility for being
their administrative mentor during
their Practicum or make alternative
arrangements.
Computer
Requirements
It is expected
candidates will be proficient in Microsoft
Word, at a minimum, and preferably
conversant with Microsoft Excel and
PowerPoint. Accepted students should
have Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint,
and Excel) on an accessible computer
and have access to a printer capable
of producing multiple-page documents.
Students should also be able to download
materials online (high-speed internet)
and check e-mail daily for updates.

Fees can be charged
through MasterCard or VISA.
Currently, 15 graduate credits are
available for $1,500. An additional
5 credits will be available in academic
year 2008-09, with no additional cost.
An additional 5 credits, beyond the
20, will also be available in academic
year 2008-09 for the added cost of
$500.

made directly to the individual who
in turn makes payments to ELI. Interested
persons may apply online through the
site and, with documentation from
the program, receive approval within
24 hours. ELI will provide an endorsement

The NEA Foundation provides grants
to teachers for their professional
development, for which ELI qualifies.
The grant is for $2,000. Please see:

Application
to EDCO for ELI
Completed application package by US
mail, email, or fax, are due no later
than January 31, 2008 (this is an
extension from the previously scheduled
time). Notification on admission will
be sent no later than February 6,
2008. Complete application packages
submitted by December 21, 2007 will
be given early consideration and notification
by January 4, 2008. Complete application
packages submitted by January 14,
2008 will be notified by January 28,
2008.
Coursework for the
sixth cohort will begin on Wednesday,
February 13, 2008 from 4-7:30pm at
EDCO's Seefurth Classroom in Waltham
and continue on Wednesdays through
May 2008, excepting school vacations.
To be considered
please submit a copy of the application
and the following information:
1) One letter from
your principal or director/supervisor
who can critique the strengths, as
well as areas for development, of
your leadership skills and potential.
2) Personal statement
explaining your interest and readiness
for educational leadership. Include
experiences and skills you bring to
this preparation (1-2 pages).
3) A letter from
one professional reference who can
critique the strengths as well as
areas for development of your leadership
capacities.
4) Current Resume,
including current and previous professional
work experience and higher education
courses and degrees.
