EDCO Seefurth Center (get directions)
The Seefurth Center assists member school districts in strengthening their curriculum, instruction, and professional development programs through interdistrict cooperation. Program goals are developed by senior curriculum administrator representatives to the EDCO Program Advisory Committee (PAC) and activities are developed in concert with PAC and members of a range of topical or subject-centered interdistrict subcommittees.
Seefurth Center Program Objectives:
Establish and support networks and forums for sharing information, curriculum products, and
state-of-the-art theory and practice about teaching and learning.
Expand the capacity of participating school districts to provide professional development for
school personnel.
Extend member systems’ access to programs, resources and materials through collaborative
projects and alliances with local institutions.
Activities Conducted by the Seefurth Center:
Interdistrict Curriculum Committees serve as a grassroots network for communication among member districts and between districts and EDCO staff. The following EDCO interdistrict groups meet regularly to exchange information, provide forums for discussion of instructional issues, and serve as task groups to develop collaborative projects.

Professional Development Programs are designed to address mutually held systemwide
goals of the school district members of the Collaborative and provide access to stateof-
the-art practice and research on teaching and learning. Program offerings range from
single session workshops to multi-session courses and conferences.
Initiation and Management of Special Projects is implemented by linking with research and development organizations, colleges and universities; maintaining a library of professional development video, audio and print resource materials; and by initiating grant programs and partnerships with area colleges and organizations.
